Carol,

I know what a tremendous effort goes into the writing of an entire book, especially one that deals with life-changing issues. My mother, too, had Alzheimer's disease.

I congratulate you on the publication of your book, which is a very "big deal." Actually, someone mentioned your book to me a couple of weeks ago, so I am familiar with the title. I have a pile of books to read, but now I will make a real effort to add yours to my pile.

Next time I write an encouraging post, I'll mention your webpage. You are a real inspiration.

Hello,
I took the plunge and wrote a memoir--that wound up getting published by a traditional publisher. I'm not famous, nor did I do anything outrageous--I wrote about the mother-daughter relationship and family caregiving--something millions face every day.
Stories keep us alive and guide our way. Whenever I have a problem or a question, I turn to a book. By writing down our own stories, you never know who they might touch.
Thanks for your blog and encouraging others.

I do have a cell phone, but I agree with you about text messaging. I think that the time you spend typing out a text message, you could've easily called the person and just say it. And I also think that certain things can be misinterpreted without the necessary element of vocal or visual expressions that you cannot convey through a text messsage.
